Ο θείος από το Σικάγο (Τα τελευταία του 2020 - Μέρος 1ο)

 

Αγαπητοί φίλοι και μη.

λίγο πριν μας αφήσει το 2020 αποφάσισα να ανεβάσω μαζεμένα κάποια θέματα που λόγω έλλειψης χρόνου και διάθεσης δεν ανέβηκαν σε αυτό το βήμα. Επειδή όμως η επικαιρότητα στο δήμο Ήλιδας είναι καταιγιστική δεν θα μπορούσε να περάσει αδιάφορη αυτή η δημοσίευση του προέδρου του Συλλόγου Φίλων Νοσοκομείου Αμαλιάδας και αναπληρωτή δημάρχου δήμου Ήλιδας (διαβάστε τη εδώ).

Αποφάσισα να απαντήσω στον αγαπητό πρόεδρο και αναπληρωτή δημάρχου σε αυτή την επιστολή (που κατέκλυσε τον τοπικό έντυπο και ηλεκτρονικό τύπο) για δύο λόγους. Αφενός διότι οι κότες τις οποίες δεν κατονομάζει δεν πρόκειται να του απαντήσουν και κατά δεύτερον διότι πρέπει να καταλάβει και αυτός ότι σε αυτή την πόλη υπάρχουν σκεπτόμενοι άνθρωποι που ενδιαφέρονται για το κοινό καλό και θα παρεμβαίνουν ασκώντας κριτική στα δημόσια πρόσωπα γιατί αυτό είναι το νόημα της δημοκρατίας που οι ίδιοι συμμετέχουν ως εκλεγμένοι αντιπρόσωποι.

Απλά αυτή τη φορά το κείμενο είναι γραμμένο στα αγγλικά για να το καταλάβει καλύτερα ο αποδέκτης και να μη χαθεί το νόημα στη μετάφραση. Για τους υπόλοιπους που δεν έχουν γνώσεις αγγλικών ας το βάλουν στο Google Translate και πιστεύω ότι θα βγάλουν νόημα.

Dear friend,

I'm calling you friend because I consider you a friend of the city of Amaliada and you have proven yourself so far by donating to the Hospital very important equipment. 

The organization of SFINA for me serves no purpose at all and is a lost cause since everything that refers to public health and education is a matter of general government and the according ministry and not a matter of a municipality. But that is my opinion. Everybody choose their fight and dedicate even their lives to it. And everybody chooses the way they spend their money and I totally respect that as well. 

That's all good so far. If you were just the chairman for a non profit organization I wouldn't have a problem. But you chose to get involved and ask for the vote of the people and for me at this point there is a big conflict. Not a legal one but a moral one. And yes there are still people that believe that the problem of this country is not an economical but a moral one. If people were not so corrupted they would vote for people who care about the common good and not their selves and their families. There is a greek saying that perhaps you know "Δεν μπορείς να έχεις δύο καρπούζια κάτω από την ίδια μασχάλη" and for me having two different roles is not serving the common good. And since you said in public that you will take back the donation because it is unused makes me absolutely furious. 

You should understand that this is not a land of indigenous people. I don't know who assured you that it is going to be used and had the authority to tell you that and as it seems lied, but it is so little as a gesture to threat that you will take it back that it makes me angry because I thought that you cared for the common good. There is another greek saying "Όποιος ανακατεύεται με τα πίτουρα τον τρώνε οι κότες" or you should know better before you became the greatest benefactor of this city. 

I don't know why you aren't saying names about who you think is responsible but I really don't care. For me the honest thing to do is to resign from your elected place that you hold and devote your self to your non profit organization and the fight for the common good and you will find more allies that you will now believe. If not then nothing is different in this city and everybody is out there for themselves and nothing more. Try to be big and not small..

And from time to time you can visit this blog and see how the truth looks like. Not the one that you  "offer" to be printed but the one that when you read it, you feel that it is the real deal.

PS: Having a lot of money is a hard life because you never know the real intentions of the people that approach you. There is no other motive for stating my opinion in public as you did other than the common good. We should meet after covid-19. It woud be interesting...
